Season V of CrabCraft ran as a period of sustained expansion, construction, and player led narrative development. The season opened with a successful launch and stabilized into a phase of ambitious infrastructure projects, functioning economic systems, and organized community activities.
Launch Phase
Dozens of players connected when the server opened. LordFire completed the "Stone Age" advancement first. ZER01we located diamonds within the first hour. The launch day player count exceeded Season IV's maximum. The initial progression rate and high concurrent player numbers established the season's trajectory.
Infrastructure Development
Players constructed large-scale facilities that modified the server landscape and supported economic activity.
Production Facilities and Commerce
- Industrial Farms: PurelyAkemi built multiple high efficiency farms, including a gold farm designed to produce over 1,200 gold blocks per hour. She also constructed mob, slime, and tree farms, and developed PurelyAltkemi, a scripted bot for automating AFK processes.
- Spawn Commerce Zone: WaterTie, Jazzyshakes and ChronicWhiffer built a large auction house at spawn. Multiple players opened shops, leading to the establishment of an official market square. Jurarules and liquid controlled most of the enchanted book market. Jeff monopolised shulker shell distribution through an efficient farm.
- Voxel Visionaries: Ian, Brazy, and Will formed this construction group. They renovated spawn roads, designed a new nether hub, and built Mudkip's base, which featured a kraken structure wrapped around the main building.
- Creative Server: A separate creative server launched to support large projects from current and future seasons. The creative server supported WorldEdit and Axiom.
Player Constructions
CommonerKane and Tree4tress built a New Mexican Pueblo-style base. PurelyAkemi planned a 25,000-block temporary base modelled after Howl's Moving Castle. Guzz1man completed a modern office building.
Community Activities
Players organised recurring events and gatherings.
Organised Competitions
- Hide and Seek: A server-wide hide-and-seek event took place in the spawn area.
- Colosseum Tournament: Players competed in standardized gear sets. Stranded Lord won.
- Hunger Games: arcanaMC won this event, held on the separate event server.
- Halloween Events: Brazy organized a scavenger hunt using shulker boxes hidden around spawn. Will organized a raffle.
Wedding and Trial
Izzy and Shadow held an in-game wedding attended by multiple server members. The afterparty ended when ChewedApples killed multiple attendees NinjaTrunks presided over an impromptu trial, found ChewedApples guilty, and sentenced them to execution.
Elections and Auction
Herbane won election as Judge and Tylernausurus as Minister.
A large auction followed, where players spent hundreds of diamonds on rare items. The event redistributed substantial wealth across the server - causing the largest collection of players since the launch at 32.
Notable Builds
Season V saw the creation of several impressive and detailed builds across the server. Most notably, Ian's Town of Avro identified by the robot in the centre.
Town of Avro
The Town of Avro was a large build organized by Ian, while most of the area was his, it was also home to other players who built their own creations along edges of town. Inside the town was a robot featuring an automatic animation turn on during the night. Moreover, prominent planes in the sky with rotating propellers. Across the server, the area was widely recognised for its impressive detail and effort put into the creation. Ian is also one of the founders of Voxel Visionaries.
Tyler's Sandwich Shop
Tyler's Sandwich Shop is well known for being the best sandwich shop in all of CrabCraft as well as having amazing sandwiches.
Season Conclusion
The Purge event was scheduled for November 9th. During this end of season event, restrictions on stealing and other normally prohibited actions would be temporarily lifted before the server reset for Season 6.
